Friends,
For this Tuesday, April 21, Eastside Insight gathering, we'll exploring the figure of Mara, who continually tried to keep the Buddha from awakening, or from helping others awaken.
Mara never gave up, and kept appearing to try to trick the Buddha during the latter's entire life. Mara also tried to thwart the male and female practitioners of the Buddha's time, and even now we all encounter forms of Mara, our own blind spots and obsessions. Many people use this metaphor of Mara to illuminate their own blind spots and not be fooled by them, saying "I see you, Mara." We'll explore what this seeing means, and how it can be helpful in life.
We’ll be gathering at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21.
Please get the URL for the evening by emailing stevellen95@comcast.net, or please come in person to the chapel at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church, 315 3rd Ave S., Kirkland, WA 98033.

Big bows to the kind sangha members who help set up for these evenings, now Tuesdays. It’s hugely helpful when you can help, and when can say you’ll be helping. Thank you!

The dharma starts with how things are, and then it shows us how to live with reality in equanimity and good heart. May your hearts be at ease.
With bows and love,
Steve
